The software is sold on a monthly subscription basis to help you sell your product or services online while taking advantage of analytics, email marketing, and so much more.
All Kartra integrations operate in an ecosystem.
This means that with just one software, you can operate and execute various functionalities conveniently from one dashboard.
How Kartra Works
Kartra works as a SaaS (Software as a Service) tool.
The platform comes with a drag-and-drop builder which you can use to create your website and different aspects of your entire marketing campaign.
It is hosted in the cloud therefore you don’t have to download the software on your device.
Kartra allows you to add pages to your own subdomain, and everything from membership sites, helpdesk portal, landing pages, etc will be automatically displayed under your domain name.
Apart from the inbuilt integrations, Kartra can also integrate with some of the platforms you already use for your business.
For example, if you’re currently using MailChimp to run your email marketing campaign, you can simply add this platform to Kartra instead of switching to Kartra mail.
Who Is Kartra Best For?
There are several groups of digital entrepreneurs who could use Kartra for their business.
The platform is ideal for:

Methodology: How Kartra Has Been Tested?
In order to fully test Kartra and all its possibilities, I registered on the Kartra platform and picked up their paid membership.
I then started using this platform and analyzed it based on various different metrics, such as:
- Flexibility and Limitations: how many and what features does the platform has, how they do their job, and what benefits you can expect from it? What are the limitations?
- Management and User Experience (UX): I look at how easy and how intuitive is it to use the platform?
- Speed and Performance: how fast are the pages created on this platform?
- Security: how does the platform take care of security and privacy?
- Affordability: the affordability of this tool is assessed depending on its price and the different plans it offers.
- Communication and Support: what are the support options, how quickly support responds to your queries, and how they are solved.
- User Ratings and Reputation: what are the feedback from real Kartra users on other review platforms.
Everything that is written in this review is 100% real and is based on my own personal experience.
Kartra Review: What Does Kartra Look Like in Reality?

Kartra drag-and-drop page builder has no limitations.
It is used to create everything on the tool from landing pages, marketing funnels, thank you pages, sales pages, etc.
Additionally, the feature is fully functional.
With just simple clicks, you’ll be on your way to creating professional pages while enjoying optimum flexibility.
What Was My Experience With Kartra Page Builder?
As with most drag-and-drop page builders, my experience with this tool has been very positive.
It was very easy to use it. Everything is intuitive and easy to understand. And the best part is that you can get started with any template quickly and easily to speed up the process.
With Kartra checkouts, you can design your checkout pages and sell your products and services easily.
The software also allows for one-click transactions.
This means that if a previous customer or member visits your checkout, their details will be automatically filled in.
Thus they can complete a purchase with just one click.
Kartra offers both single and multi-step checkout forms.
Plus, you can manage existing customers by editing payment options, rescheduling payment dates, modifying pricing, or halting subscriptions until further notice.
All the flexibility to manage your customers and subscriptions can be accessed from one place.
You can also create upsells, downsells and order bumps to increase the value of your sale.
3. Sales Funnel Builder
Using Kartra, you can create, design, and launch automated sales-driving funnels within minutes.
Kartra sales funnel builder is advanced.
You can link every page created by the tool to create an interconnected multi-step funnel.
Once you’ve set up your sales funnel, Kartra will run it on autopilot 24/7.
The tool allows you to incorporate email sequence into your sales funnel, enjoy plug-and-play pre-made marketing campaigns, enable lead tagging, and so much more.
Also, Kartra allows you to import campaigns from other members.
4. Membership Sites
Kartra membership sites are effective for business owners offering premium coaching or selling services.
The sites are designed to offer your clients a full learning experience.
Kartra membership sites allow you to create:
- Multiple membership tier pricing
- Upload drip content
- Structure your lessons
- Upload files, videos, or audio

However, Kartra membership sites don’t show how far a student is in the course by percentage.
But, it shows if a student has seen the lesson before using an eye icon.

Kartra’s video hosting feature replaces tools like Wistia, Vimeo, SproutVideo, and Spotlightr.
It gives you absolute control of your videos.
You can decide whether you want the video to autoplay on load, mute at the start, display the social share button, upload your video thumbnail, set autoplay, etc.
The tool also offers a variety of colors and video player skins that can match the color of your brand.
All Kartra videos are optimized for different devices.
It doesn’t matter whether your client is watching on their mobile phone, tablet, or desktop.
At the end of the day, they will have a perfect view.
You can also add a watermark with your logo or brand name to your video to mark it as intellectual property.
6. Customer Support Helpdesks
Kartra, customer helpdesks help you create a systematic ticket scheme whenever leads or customers want to inquire about your product/service.
This feature gives a variety of options customers can use to get in touch with you such as live chat, ticket, phone call, or skype.
The tickets are grouped into opened, waiting, and resolved.
This makes it easier to keep track of all inquiries and answer questions.
Customers can also rate the assistance received.
This will help you know whether or not your team is working effectively at managing our workload.
7. Email Marketing Platform (Kartra Mail)
Kartra email marketing lets you do everything with email automation, tagging, sequence, broadcasts and so much more.
This feature will let you create live email and SMS sequences to communicate better with your audience.
With Kartra Mail you can:
- Conduct intelligent split testing on your content and subject lines
- Enjoy an assortment of templates
- Set multiple trigger rules for your sequence

Additionally, every email click, open rate, and send-out is tracked in real-time.
Therefore you can monitor open and click rates, spam complaints and subscriptions, revenue ratios, and the optimum time day, and time scores better with your leads.
8. Lead Management
Kartra leads helps you manage all your leads from one place and follow their journey every single step of the way.
From your account, you can learn the behavioral patterns of your leads, detect breaking points in your conversion process, and validate your sales blueprint.
Also, Kartra allows for advanced lead tagging and scoring.
This means you can categorize your leads into VIP, cold lead, prospects, paid customers, etc.
You can also score your leads to prompt them to take action.
For example, VIP leads get a free membership course or 50% off a purchase.
9. Affiliate Management
Kartra affiliate portals help you increase your income by converting customers into promoters.
You can easily manage an army of affiliates promoting your product/service.
Kartra affiliate management gives you the liberty and freedom to communicate with affiliates, pay commissions and incentivize them.
Using Kartra, you can set up multiple commission tiers, use PayPal adaptive payments to pay your affiliates, create custom affiliate portals, custom landing pages, subscribe and tag your affiliates and so much more.
To help you know your affiliates and manage them better, Kartra allows you to create a mandatory invite questionnaire and Terms & Conditions before they can sign up to your affiliate program.
10. Kartra Agency
So, what is Kartra Agency?
Kartra Agency is an exclusive Kartra feature that allows agencies and marketing service providers to run and manage clients’ accounts from a central place.
You can view all your clients from one place.
This feature allows you to:
- Keep track of important metrics of each account in real-time
- Create log-in credentials for clients
- Add new clients to your portfolio
- Generate reports
What I love most about the Kartra Agency is, you don’t need to write down or remember all your client’s passwords.
The tool offers a secure master login which you can use to access the various accounts from Kartra’s secure one-click login process.
You can use Kartra Agency as an:
Owner – buy and create new accounts on behalf of your clients and mark them.
Contractor – link already existing accounts and simply manage them.
What Are Kartra Integrations?
Kartra has the ability to integrate with a few different tools and platforms such as:
- Digital Access Pass
- Elastic Mail
- Google Calendar
- S2 Member
These Integrations are available by going to “My Integrations” on the sidebar, you may need to click “Integrations” from the top menu as well.
Comparison of Kartra Features With Other Alternatives
To determine how flexible the platform is in terms of its features, let’s compare them to other Kartra alternatives.

As can be seen from the table above, the Kartra platform has virtually all the features you may need.
The three things I missed are the webinar platform (but can be linked to WebinarJam), the eCommerce site builder, and the ability to have a blog.
However, if you need any of these features, they can usually be solved through integrations.
For example, Kartra can be linked to WebinarJam or Shopify platforms.
What Are Kartra Limitations?
Kartra gives you access to almost all of its features, no matter what payment plan you choose.
The only exception is the Kartra Agency feature, which is unavailable to Starter Plan holders.
True, individual features may have separate limits based on what plan you have.
For example, different plans have different limits on the number of domains and the number of customers you can have.
The Starter plan also has limits on the number of products available, video uploads, emails per month, etc.
Kartra Benefits: What Can Kartra Be Used for?
In my tests, I found that you can use Kartra for almost any type of business website, except eCommerce.

If you are planning to use Kartra for eCommerce, unfortunately, it may not be of much help to you.
Can Kartra be Used to Build Business Websites?
This is exactly what Kartra was created for.
With Kartra, you can create virtually any business website and sell your products right away.
Kartra provides you with a variety of pre-made templates you can use to create various pages for your website and launch an entire online business.
These templates include thank you pages, classic homepages, blogs, sales pages, etc.
All you have to do is click and import them!
Can Kartra be Used to Build Sales Funnel Websites?
With Kartra you can create a fully functional automated sales funnel.
The platform offers free templates that you can simply customize and use for your site.
But unlike other sales funnel builders available in the market, Kartra allows you to push sales and grow your business through marketing campaigns.
The tool features simple email marketing, customizable multi-page funnel flow, a sequence builder, among other things.

How Hard Is to Build a Sales Funnel Using Kartra?
Personally, I found that the process of building a sales funnel with Kartra is very easy.

Just select a target and you will get many different funnel templates.
And the process of creating a sales funnel itself is very easy and intuitive.
Can Kartra be Used to Build Membership Sites?
Kartra membership sites are designed to give customers a premium experience.
The platform offers well-designed custom branded membership portals with a drag and drop interface.
With Kartra membership sites you can:
- Upload files and videos easily
- Add videos from YouTube, Wistsia, Vimeo, or Kartra
- Create different tiers with varying prices, content, points, and logins
- Schedule drip content with a release-time schedule
- Link or feature products right from the portal
- Run automations according to different customer actions
- Deliver online courses and so much more via the membership platform.
Can Kartra be Used for Lead Generation?
Kartra form builder allows you to create high-quality opt-in pages making it easier to grow your email list.
It also offers immense flexibility when it comes to creating lead capture forms.
Kartra also has lead tracking links that measure the detailed performance of how your leads interact with different aspects of your page.
For example, you can identify the type of ads that generate the highest ROI or which blog posts have a high conversion rate.
Lead tracking links are a great way to generate more leads and increase sales in general.
Can Kartra be Used for Selling Your Products & Services?
Kartra allows you to sell unlimited products and services from physical goods to digital services, membership courses, etc.
This tool is famously known for its checkout pages.
Therefore when it comes to setting up a systematic and gorgeous check-out cart, Kartra got you covered.
The platform that’s so much more than simply allowing you to add products and services to your account.
Kartra users can set up different tier products and split test prices for optimum conversion rates.
When using Kartra, you can set up payment gateways, add custom tags, two customer profiles, use multiple price points, set up automated email receipts for customers, and add an autoresponder for your clients.
Can Kartra be Used for Running Email Marketing Campaigns?
When using Kartra, you can create email marketing campaigns from scratch, or you can customize the already pre-built templates.
Katra has its own email marketing platform known as Kartra mail that helps you get more clicks, customers, and conversion rates.
Kartra mail is designed to replace other email Marketing platforms such as MailChimp, Activecampaign, ConvertKit, Constant Contact, etc.
This tool uses behavior-based automation to help you in your email marketing.
For instance, if a customer doesn’t open your email, Kartra automatically sends a follow-up sequence.
It also uses advanced features such as intelligence split testing, next-gen automation, and custom tags to revolutionize your email marketing experience.
How Good Is Kartra on Email Marketing?
During my tests, I found that Kartra is good enough to fully replace most of the email marketing companies.
For most businesses, all of the features that Kartra email marketing has to offer should suffice.
Unless you need some very specific features that only certain email marketing companies have.
However, they can also be connected via Kartra integrations or with the Zapier tool.
Can Kartra be Used for eCommerce?
Unfortunately, Kartra isn’t adapted for use as an eCommerce platform.
While you can sell physical products on Kartra, the platform simply isn’t designed to display large catalogs of products the way that traditional eCommerce platforms like Shopify are.
Kartra is much better for selling one or just a few products rather than dozens or hundreds of different products the way that Amazon and similar eCommerce businesses do.
Kartra can be integrated into Shopify through third-party integration.
But still – it means you will need to use both platforms. And it costs money.
My Verdict And Rating
So, as you can see from this list – Kartra has a lot and very interesting features.
Most of the time, they all work as separate tools, but they fit together perfectly.
And that means you no longer have to spend money on individual tools because everything you may need is in one place.
True, if you do not use most of them, then you may feel that there is money being spent unnecessarily.
But you never know when you’ll need them in the future if your business grows.
So, I think that Kartra is flexible enough to meet the expectations of most consumers.
And if you miss something, most things can be solved through Kartra integrations.
The only problem I see is that Kartra isn’t an eCommerce-friendly option.
My rating for Kartra’s flexibility and limitations: 4.8 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
MANAGEMENT AND USER EXPERIENCE: How Easy Is It to Set up Kartra?
When you open the Kartra admin panel, you are immediately greeted by a simple and clear navigation panel.
At the top right you will find a menu with the basic settings for your Karta account.
This will allow you to quickly and easily set up both basic personal data and account settings globally.
On the left, you will see a menu bar that allows you to easily and quickly access different property pages.
This is where Kartra’s almost limitless possibilities unfold.
Clicking on each of them opens pages with different settings for each individual feature.
When you open the page for that feature, at the top of each page, you’ll find a separate sub-menu tailored just for that feature.
Through it, you can set up individual Kartra functions for different features.
Setting up Kartra Apps
Let’s take a look at each of them:
1. My Products
This is a page that allows you to upload your products and provide detailed information about them.
Here you can also create coupons, set taxes, create your own affiliate program, and so on.
2. My Communications
In the My Communications section, you can set everything related to email marketing campaigns.
Here you will be able to see all your leads, email lists, set up automation campaigns, email broadcasts, and more.
3. My Pages
Next is the My Pages section where you can create pages for your website.
To create pages Kartra has an integrated drag-and-drop page builder.
This tool will allow you to create pages with absolutely no coding knowledge.
For starters, this tool may seem a little tricky at first, but here you will find full of explanations and guides on how to use this tool, which will allow you to master it very quickly.
4. My Forms
On the My Forms page, you can create subscription forms to register people into your leads database.
You may add a number of fields to your forms such as First Name, Email Address, Country and State, etc.
Once you have completed the configuration process, the system will give you a code to be embedded on your page, which in return will display the form.
5. My Memberships
On the My Memberships page, you can create your own membership site.
Not only will you be able to create your own training with this tool, but you can also set multiple membership levels, structure your lessons, drip your content over time, and more.
6. My Videos
On this page, you can upload your videos and make them interactive.
For example, an email pop-up may appear for a visitor watching a video after a certain period of time, which would allow them to continue watching the video only if an email address is entered.
Or you can create timed checkout buttons after a certain amount of watched video.
To be honest, this is one of the most impressive video marketing tools I have ever seen.
7. My Calendars
This is another amazing feature of Kartra.
The My Calendars page allows you to create your own personal automated calendar to organize your appointments with clients or partners.
This feature has many different functions such as free and paid appointments, notification reminders, the ability to create your own branding, etc. that will allow you to manage your appointments very flexibly and conveniently.
8. My Surveys
Surveys are one of the newest Kartra features.
On the My Surveys page, you can create interactive surveys and quizzes.
There are two types of surveys you can create:
- Surveys: create a questionnaire to further profile and segment your customers.
- Quizzes: Run tests and exams. This tool is ideal if you have a learning center or training courses.
9. My Helpdesks
On the My Helpdesks page, you can create your own customer support portal.
From here you can set up a live chat, ticketing system, create a helpdesk portal, see customer support analytics, and more.
Just everything you need for your product support.
9. My Campaigns
This is another very interesting feature I found in Kartra.
My Campaigns are done-for-you campaigns that have been put together by other Kartra members or the Kartra staff team themselves.
These campaigns will deploy a full-fledged campaign into your account with complete email sequences, product sale funnels, advanced automations, etc.
Note that, while all the individual parts of the campaign (tagging, automations, post-transaction redirects, etc) should be 100% operational, you might still need to fill in some blanks like your product’s pricing and refund terms, your name at the bottom of each email, etc.
It was a pretty interesting discovery for me. Can you at least imagine how much time this can save?
10. My Integrations
This one is very simple.
From this page, you can manage all your integrations with just a few clicks of a button.
11. My Agency
Finally, there is the My Agency page.
From this page, you can manage other Kartra accounts from one centralized dashboard.
This is especially useful for agencies and freelancers who provide website development services.
My Verdict And Rating: Is Kartra Easy to Use?
To me personally, Kartra management doesn’t seem very complicated.
Everything is clear enough with detailed explanations everywhere.

SPEED AND PERFORMANCE: How Fast Is Kartra?
For the next test, I’ve tested Kartra’s loading speed and performance.
This is a fairly important metric as the speed of a website affects both the user experience and even its ability to rank in search engines.
