5. What Is a Good Landing Page Conversion Rate?
A good conversion rate is somewhere around 2% to 5%. But the more is the better.
When you’re sitting at a conversion rate of 2%, improving to 4% seems like a huge jump. But, that 1-2% increase in your account’s performance still leaves you an average performer when it comes to conversions. If you want more customers and sales, then the true goal should be achieving 5%.
The top 25% of websites are converting at 5.31% or higher. Therefore, if you can break into that list, that means more revenue for your business.
A good conversion rate depends on how many people are visiting your website each day. Simply doubling up from two percent may not suffice if there aren’t enough visitors coming through together or too few purchases being made per customer visit for any progress seen.
However, when the conversion rate is below 5%, it’s impossible to tell when an improvement in performance will be noticeable. Once you’re at a percentage of around 10% or higher, then every percent increase has exponential effects on your conversion rates.

The Portent team ran tests with ten different websites over one year, monitoring conversion rates and user experience metrics like pageviews per visitor bounce rate across various periods.
After analyzing 26000+ landing pages worth of data from these sites, they found out that website conversion rates drop by an average of 4.42% with each additional second of load time (between seconds 0-5)
Also, website conversion rates drop by an average of 2.11% with each additional second of load time (between seconds 0-9)
The research also found out that 78% of website pages have a load time of 5 seconds or less, and 22% had more than 5.
This is an impressive improvement from the previous study where 50% were over 5, with half either being under three or lower.
