Step-By-Step Guide On How To Set Up A ThriveCart A/B Testing

Step 1: Start by logging into your ThriveCart account.

You must have a checkout page set up and a product created.

Step 2: Once you logged in, go to the main screen.

There are four icons displayed on the dashboard – products, upsells, downsells, and A/B testing.

Then, pick the product you want to test from your list and click on it.

A small duplicate icon will appear on the right side of the screen.

Click on it to copy.

Ensure you copy the whole product.

A popup will appear on your screen. Select ‘clone the product.’ It will automatically pop up on top of your list.

Click on edit.

Step 3: A new page will appear with four slots – products, fulfillment, checkout, and behaviors.

Start with a product. The product name should match the one you duplicated from.

Delete everything on the ‘label’ slot and type in anything that will help you quickly identify the product.

Don’t change anything else.

Click on the blue Save & get URL button, which will automatically redirect you to the next page.

Step 4: Proceed to the element on your cart page you want to split the test.

It might be behavior, checkout, or fulfillment.

Testing all page elements at the same time may create confusion.

For you to keenly keep track of what is working or not, it is better to test one aspect at a time.

Make desired changes and click on Save and get URL.

Step 5: Go back to the front page and click on A/B tests.

Select Create A/B tests and get started. Search the initial original product, mark it, and click next.

Repeat the same procedure with the duplicate product you made. Give your Split test a name for easy identification.

Step 6: On the second slot, select the product’s goal according to the element you are testing.

It can be the highest income (across the entire funnel), highest cart conversion, or lowest cart abandonment.

Step 7: You will have to select the date when the A/B test will end.

On the third slot, choose your preferred date. It can be days, weeks, or even months.

However, the period should be reasonable.

It is essential to go for an average amount of time that allows enough traffic to be analyzed without waiting for too long.

Step 8: Enter the name of the split URL you want to paste on the element you are testing.

Click on the Create A/B test icon, and copy the URL. Paste it where you want to test either on the buy button or checkout page and wait for the test to end.

Results will be automatically displayed under your A/B test icon on the dashboard.

You will be able to see all the results obtained during the entire duration your A/B test was running.

When the test ends, the winner will be defaulted. The URL created will always be functional. If you want to rerun the test, you don’t have to go through this entire process again.
