ClickFunnels for Agencies

If you’re looking into using ClickFunnels for your agency, here’s the short version: it’s one of the best platforms for it.

I’ve been using it for years, and honestly, it’s one of the most agency-friendly funnel builders out there.

Especially now with ClickFunnels 2.0, which was clearly built with agencies in mind.

So let me walk you through exactly how agencies can use ClickFunnels, what your options are, and which one I’d actually recommend (based on my own experience).

Is This for You?

Before we get into it, this article is specifically about using ClickFunnels to serve clients.

If you’re just looking to use ClickFunnels for your own business or your own funnels, that’s a different conversation.

What I’m covering here is how to build an agency or freelance service around ClickFunnels, where you build and manage funnels on behalf of others.

If that’s what you’re after – keep reading.

Can ClickFunnels Work Well For Agencies?

Short answer. Yes. Absolutely.

In fact, the newer version of ClickFunnels was built in a way that makes it much more suitable for agencies than many people initially realize.

Over the years, I’ve seen several different ways agencies use ClickFunnels when working with clients.

Some approaches are simpler and cheaper. Others are more advanced and built specifically for agencies that want to scale.

Two Main Ways Agencies Can Use ClickFunnels

From my experience, there are two main approaches.

The first one is simpler and cheaper – better suited for freelancers or people who are just getting started with client work and don’t want to invest a lot upfront.

The second one is the full agency setup – more expensive, but it gives you everything you need to run a proper agency operation.

So, let me walk you through both.

Option 1: Build Funnels from Your Own Account and Share Them

This is the simpler and cheaper route, and it’s probably the best starting point if you’re just getting into client work.

Here’s how it works:

You build everything from your own ClickFunnels account (funnels, sales pages, email automations, etc.) and then transfer it to your client using the Share Funnels feature.

How ClickFunnels Share Funnel Works

This ClickFunnels feature lets you perfectly transfer funnels from your ClickFunnels account into your client’s account.

You get to pick exactly what gets transferred – specific pages, the whole funnel, email sequences, or whatever your client needs.

By the way…

There’s also another way to work with this setup: your client can simply add your email to their ClickFunnels account, and you can log in and do the work directly in their account.

ClickFunnels Collaborators Feature

And by doing so, you don’t need a big budget to get started.

Your main cost is your own ClickFunnels subscription.

By the way, if you don’t have a ClickFunnels account yet, you can get the ClickFunnels extended 30-day trial and test out how everything works yourself.

Alternatively, you can get a 3-month deal and a ClickFunnels account at an unexpectedly good price.

Just keep in mind that to use this offer, you cannot have had a ClickFunnels account before.

My Quick Tip: Join the ClickFunnels Affiliate Program

If you decide to go this route, I would personally like to remind you to take advantage of the opportunity and join the ClickFunnels Affiliate Program.

ClickFunnels Affiliate Program Landing Page

ClickFunnels has an affiliate program that pays 30% recurring commission on every referral.

So if you’re recommending ClickFunnels to your clients anyway (and you probably will), you could earn a recurring commission each time one of them signs up through your link.

It’s not the same as running sub-accounts where you keep 100% of the revenue, but it’s a low-effort income stream that runs in the background while you focus on your actual services.

Option 2: The ClickFunnels Agency Account

This is the more serious option.

ClickFunnels offers the ClickFunnels Agency account, which lets you use their infrastructure to build funnels and sales websites for your clients.

The ClickFunnels Agency Account gives you 50 reseller sub-accounts that you can sell to your clients or bundle into your service packages. You keep 100% of the profit and there’s no revenue share with ClickFunnels.

But it’s not just the sub-accounts.

You also get the Funnel Builder Certification training and certificates that genuinely help with credibility when you’re talking to potential clients.

On top of that, there are some solid bonuses included — CF Pro Tools, BarnumPT, and the Agency Account itself.

How to Get the ClickFunnels Agency Account

To get the ClickFunnels Agency Account, you first need to sign up for the One Comma Club Challenge.

Join the One Comma Club Challenge

The challenge itself is the entry point – and once you’re inside, you’ll get the opportunity to purchase the Funnel Builder Certification, which is what comes bundled with the agency lifetime account.

For agencies, the reason this challenge matters is that it’s the only place where the Funnel Builder Certification offer is made available.

What is ClickFunnels Funnel Builder Certification

You won’t find it anywhere else.

So the path looks like this:

Sign up for the One Comma Club Challenge → go through the training → purchase the Funnel Builder Certification when it’s offered → and that’s when you get the agency lifetime account with the 50 reseller sub-accounts included.

It’s worth noting upfront that the Funnel Builder Certification isn’t available for purchase – you only get access to it through the One Comma Club Challenge.

So if the Agency Account is your goal, that’s where you need to start.

How Much Does the Agency Account Cost?

The Funnel Builder Certification with the ClickFunnels Agency Lifetime Account costs $5,500.

ClickFunnels Lifetime Deal Price

Starting from the second year, there’s a $297 annual maintenance fee to keep your account and sub-accounts active.

What Happens If You Don’t Pay the $297 Annual Fee?

This is a question many people ask.

I have personally written to ClickFunnels support, and here’s what they told me:

ClickFunnels Support Answer About the 297 Annual Fee

So, as you can see, if the yearly maintenance fee isn’t paid, your account and your sub-accounts will be temporarily deactivated.

Once the fee is paid again, the accounts are restored.

So the fee mainly covers maintenance, updates, and continued platform access.

How the Agency Account Will Work for You?

You get 50 reseller sub-accounts that you can sell to your clients for at least $97 per month each.

You can bundle the accounts into your overall service price.

For example, if you’re charging a client $1,000 per month for your services, you can include the ClickFunnels account as part of that package at no extra charge to them.

It makes your offer more attractive and removes one more thing your client has to figure out on their own.

Quick Comparison: Which Option Suits You Better?

Here’s a simple breakdown so you can see at a glance which route fits where you are right now:

Option 1: Share Funnels Option 2: Agency Account
Best for Freelancers & beginners Serious agencies ready to scale
Upfront cost Just your own subscription $5,500 one-time
Ongoing cost Monthly subscription $297/year from year 2
Client accounts Client owns their account You manage 50 sub-accounts
Profit on accounts None — you charge for services only 100% — you set the price
Training included No Yes — Funnel Builder Certification
Certificates No Yes

Which Option Would I Recommend?

Personally, without any doubt, I’d go with the Funnel Builder Certification and the ClickFunnels Agency Lifetime Account.

I know $5,500 sounds like a lot.

But this is a lifetime license – you won’t be paying monthly like everyone else.

Even with just a small number of clients, it will pay for itself over time.

And will also get the training, the certificates, and the full agency infrastructure that ClickFunnels has built out.

That said, if you’re just starting out or the budget isn’t there yet, there’s nothing wrong with going with a regular ClickFunnels account and using the Share Funnels approach to serve your first clients.

Over time, once your situation improves or you need more room to grow, you can always move to the Agency Account.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

Does the $5,500 Actually Pay Off?

This is the question most people have, and I think it’s worth doing the actual math rather than just saying “yes, it’s worth it.”

You get 50 sub-accounts.

The minimum recommended price per sub-account is $97/month.

Realistically, a new agency can expect to fill somewhere between 5 and 10 of those accounts in the first 6 to 12 months.

At 5 clients, that’s $485/month – over a year, that’s $5,820, which already covers your upfront investment.

At 10 clients, you’re looking at $970/month, or $11,640 over the year, just from the accounts alone – not counting what you charge for your actual services.

And you’ve still got 40 or more sub-accounts left to fill.

Another important thing I should note is that this is a lifetime license.

And the $297 annual fee from year two is a fraction of what a normal subscription would cost you over the same period.

So yes, it pays off. You just need a few clients to make it work.

What Services Can You Offer Clients with ClickFunnels?

Honestly, quite a lot.

Here’s what you can build and deliver for clients:

  • Lead funnels, tripwire funnels, application funnels, VSL funnels
  • E-commerce funnels and full online stores optimized for sales
  • Course platforms and membership sites
  • Email marketing campaigns and automation sequences
  • Custom CRM setups for client businesses
  • E-commerce websites built around sales funnel logic

How to Set Up ClickFunnels for Your Client Projects

Once your agency account is active, here’s how to begin delivering services:

1. Create a Workspace for Each Client

ClickFunnels Create Workspace

This keeps each client’s data, assets, and automation completely separate and organized.

2. Build Funnels According to the Client’s Goals

Use ClickFunnels’ drag-and-drop builder to create funnels that align with your client’s goals.

You can start from scratch or customize the templates available inside the platform.

Each funnel can be tailored to match the client’s branding, offer, and business model.

3. Add a Custom Domain

ClickFunnels Add Domain

Assign the client’s domain to their workspace to match their brand and improve funnel credibility.

4. Set Up Email Automations

ClickFunnels lets you build automated email sequences for your clients – including follow-ups, welcome series, and post-purchase flows.

ClickFunnels Email Workflows

You can trigger emails based on actions like opt-ins, purchases, or webinar signups.

This helps your clients stay engaged with leads, recover lost sales, and convert more prospects without manual follow-up.

5. Share or Transfer the Funnel

Once the funnel is ready, you can easily share it with your client using ClickFunnels’ built-in sharing options.

Final Thoughts

If you’re an agency owner, freelancer, or funnel builder, ClickFunnels can be a very powerful platform for working with clients.

You can start small using Share Funnels and basic accounts.

Or you can scale into the agency model with reseller accounts and full infrastructure.

Both options work.

It mostly depends on how serious you are about building an agency around funnels.

Either way, once you understand how the system works, ClickFunnels can become a very solid foundation for delivering marketing services to clients.
